    About this project

    A highlight job in Hackney: walls, panelling, cornice, skirting and window frames each finished in their own shade — five different COAT colours in a single room, specified by interior designer Anna at LifeDesign London.

    Everything started with preparation: filling, sanding, caulking and full masking of the sash windows, floors and furnishings. Every colour junction was then cut by hand rather than taped over, which is what keeps the lines crisp where ochre panelling meets near-black skirting and vivid blue joinery.

    COAT was chosen for its depth of pigment and low-VOC, water-based formula, so the room could be lived in again quickly without lingering paint smell.
